Embark on Our Journey and Values

WantAesthetics is led by Dr Edward Rethinasamy, a UK practising anaesthetist of over 30 years’ standing with an immense interest in health, longevity and beauty. His passion has taken WantAesthetics to provide the natural rejuvenation and regeneration of your body’s cellular functional processes using your own blood’s growth factors, white blood cells and stem cells. With increasing chronological age and certain lifestyles, our skin decreases its repairing capacity and loses its glow and youthfulness whilst developing wrinkles and loss of fat and bone, giving the obvious aged look. This has led us to test a person’s biological age. Your chronological age is how old you are, dependent on your date of birth, but your biological age is how old your cellular function appears to be. People age differently, and even within the same person, ageing occurs at different rates at different times. Externally, this is usually visible in the face and neck.

Natural Rejuvenation & Regeneration

Natural rejuvenative and regenerative practice is what WantAesthetics promotes through the injection of your own natural plasma rich fibrin (PRF), considered the second-generation practice following on from platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections.

The PRF Process

The PRF process begins by collecting your blood (approximately 20ml–60ml) in bottles containing no added chemicals, unlike PRP bottles, which contain anti-clotting chemicals. Your blood is then spun down (centrifuged) using a strict protocol. On completion of centrifugation, the blood separates into three discernible layers

The Three Blood Layers

  1. The top yellowish layer is liquid plasma containing proteins.
  2. The middle layer, known as the white buffy coat layer, consists of platelets, white blood cells, stem cells and growth factors.
  3. The bottom layer consists of red blood cells.

The PRF Treatment Process

Next, approximately half of the top plasma layer in the blood bottle is aspirated into a syringe, and the remainder of the top plasma layer, together with the middle white buffy coat layer, is aspirated into a second syringe.

The first syringe is then placed in a heated container, denaturing the protein (mostly albumin) into a thickened, gel-like consistency, whilst the second syringe is placed in a cooling container, maintaining its liquid consistency as per our protocol.

At the end of this stage, the contents of the two syringes are combined using a double female connector.

The combined mixture is then injected mainly into layers 2 and 5 of the skin. Injection into layer 5, over bone, provides immediate support for the layers above whilst, over time, rejuvenating the bone and deep fat that decrease with ageing. Injection of the mixture into layer 2, the dermis layer where the fibroblast cells reside, stimulates the fibroblasts to secrete new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid (HA), which plumps up the skin, making it appear youthful, whilst also stimulating the basal layer of the epidermal cells to give the skin a brighter glow.

Both PRP and PRF are broken down, or resorbed, over time. However, the resorption time for PRF, compared with PRP, is extended from two to three weeks to approximately four to six months.
